Das Außergewöhnliche an diesem Naturkundewerk ist der stark reduzierte Text in Verbindung mit zahlreichen farbigen Detailabbildungen. Vorliegend die am häufigsten anzutreffende Form des Werks mit 2 Titelblättern, einer Widmung, einer Einführung, einer gestochenen Medaillentafel, 2 gestochene Tabellen sowie 80 handkolorierte Kupferstichtafeln, Text engl./franz.
