The medieval manuscript was created in the 11th century in the Reichenau Abbey by order of Emperor Henry II and is decorated with numerous miniatures and gold initials. The pericope book contains the sections of the Gospel that are read during Mass. The original is now in the Bavarian State Library in Munich.
