Eugen Papst war ab 1935 Leiter des Kölner Männergesangsvereins und er und Richard Strauss pflegten eine gute Bekanntschaft zueinander; verschiedene Quellen belegen dies. In diesem Text lädt Strauss Papst zum Skatspiel ins Kölner Domhotel ein. Der Brief ist leicht gebräunt und hinter Glas gerahmt.
