Österreich, Mitte 18.Jh., Lindenholz vollrund geschnitzt, auf Vorderansicht gestaltete stehende Ganzfigur der bekrönten Muttergottes, die das segnende Jesuskind auf ihrer linken Hand seitlich über ihrer Hüfte trägt, die kontrapostische Haltung und der gleichmäßige S-Schwung der Figur wird durch die differenzierte Gestaltung der Gewänder Mariens unterstrichen, H: 42 cm. Rechte Hand der Maria und rechte Hand des Kindes ergänzt, Bestoßungen mit Verlusten.

MADONNA WITH CHILD Austria, mid-18th century, limewood, standing full-length figure of the crowned Virgin Mary with the blessing Child on her left hand over her hip, the contrapuntal posture and the even S-curve of the figure are underlined by the differentiated design of the robes of Mary, H: 42 cm. Mary's right hand and child's right hand repaired, chipping. Provenance: Southern German aristocracy.
