Theodore B. Starr war seinerzeit einer der prominentesten und einflussreichsten Juweliere in New York City. Diese Brosche entstand während seiner Zusammenarbeit mit dem Silberschmied Herman Marcus wohl in den 1850er-60er Jahren.
