Die Kinnari ist ein mythologisches Wesen, das halb Frau und halb Vogel ist. Sie hat den Kopf, den Torso und die Arme einer Frau, aber die Flügel, den Schwanz und die Füße eines Schwans. Sie ist bekannt für ihren Tanz, ihre Lieder und ihre Dichtung und stellt das traditionelle Symbol weiblicher Schönheit, Grazie und Vollendung dar. Aus Holz und Metall, mit Resten einer farbigen Fassung, Teils mit Goldlack und Glassteinchen verziert. Auf rundem Holzsockel, H: 80 cm.

| 'Kinnari' sculpture in Bangkok style. THAILAND, 19th c., The Kinnari is a mythological creature that is half woman and half bird. She has the head, torso and arms of a woman, but the wings, tail and feet of a swan. She is known for her dance, songs and poetry and represents the traditional symbol of female beauty, grace and perfection. Made of wood and metal, with remains of a colored setting, partly decorated with gold lacquer and glass stones. On round wooden base, h: 80 cm.
