LAVISH FIREPLACE SET, France, mid 19th century, bronze, newly fire-gilded, architecturally structured case, richly decorated with flower garlands, small animals, niches with splendid amphorae and putti, the two side plates are equally richly decorated, movement with thread suspension and strike on the bell on the hour and half hour, movement stamped on the back plate: "Christofle / a Paris". HxWxD: 45/24,5/17 cm. Slight signs of age and wear, rest, replaced, movement functioning in short test.
