22 cm langer Lauf mit Kanonenmündung, Kal. 15,5 mm, über der Kammer Jahreszahl "1851", verschiede Stempelungen und Abnahmen, Perkussionsschloss mit Pistonsicherung und Herstellerbezeichnung Krone/"Potsdam"/"G.S. Halber Nussholzschaft mit Messingbeschlägen mit ebenfalls gestempelter Eisen-/Messinggarnitur. dem Abzugsbügel Truppenstempel "U. 9. 4. E. 18." eiserner Tragering, Gesamtlänge 38 cm. Die Kavalleriepistole M 1850 war die letzte eingeführte preußische Vorderlader-Kavalleriepistole. Obwohl die Pistole bereits bei ihrer Einführung im Grunde genommen veraltet war, blieb sie bis zur Einführung des sog. "Reichsrevolvers" und vereinzelt darüber hinaus im Dienst.
