der Glücksgott mit dem dicken, nacktem Bauch, der gerunzelten Stirn und mit dem breitem Lachen ist in sitzender Körperhaltung (das rechte Bein aufgestellt) dargestellt. Die Figur des Budai verkörpert einige chinesische Lebensideale: der dicke Bauch ist ein Symbol für Reichtum. Das Lachen und die lockere Sitzhaltung symbolisiert Gelassenheit und Zufriedenheit mit sich und der Welt. Der stets gut gelaunte, besitzlose Mönch Budai hält in der linken Hand einen Sack, in dem er seine Almosen verstaut, die er an Kinder und an Arme weitergibt. H: 26,5 cm. Altersspuren, tlw. ber.
